How long do I need to wait before I can fly after diving?
Current flying after diving recommendations state that after two or more dives, divers should leave 18 hours or longer, before flying. That would translate to no flying until after 11:00am the day after your last dive with us.
Is there anything I need to know before I book?
Participants taking the any of the PADI course need to complete & sign the PADI medical statement when they start their course. You can view the PADI medical statement here.
Do I need to be able to swim to take the PADI Discover Scuba diving experience?
No, as this is a Discover Scuba experience you will be guided by one of our Instructors throughout the dives
Does the boat still go out if the weather is bad?
Customer safety is our number one priority so we liaise closely with the boat operators and marine authorities during the low season when we can be affected by the monsoon weather. It is very rare that the boats do not go out.
Is it possible to complete the theory of the PADI course ahead of my visit to Phuket?
Yes of course. We can send course materials to you ahead of your visit which will be assessed upon commencement of your course.
Can non-divers join the diving day trips?
Yes of course, the cost for a non-diver/snorkeler is 2,200 THB for the day which includes equipment (if snorkelling, breakfast, lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
Do you sell beer on the boat?
Depending on the boat operator you may be able to purchase alcohol on the boat subject to availability.
Are we affiliated with PADI?
Yes we are. We are a PADI Dive centre, and our PADI number is S-22241.
Do all the boats provide power to recharge the batteries for my camera or strobes?
Yes, all our boats have power sockets at 220v.
Do you cater to special dietary requirements or food allergies?
Yes, we will ask you about this at the time we make your booking, and we will make necessary arrangements for you.
Do you have an office or a dive centre?
Yes, we own and operate Super Divers, a PADI dive centre in Patong Beach, Phuket. We are licensed by the Tourist Authority of Thailand.
Do you provide DIN adapters, for guests that need them?
Yes we do and they are free of charge.
Do you provide Nitrox on your Similan liveaboards?
Most of the boats we offer have Nitrox onboard. Please check with us during your booking enquiry if you are unsure.
How can I pay for my trip?
We accept online payments from all major credit cards, bank transfers, or you can pay at our dive centre in Phuket
I have an open water certification. Is this okay for a Similans liveaboard?
Yes it is fine. But you might like to consider taking the advanced course onboard as it is a lot cheaper than doing it from a dive centre with day trips.
I have lost my certification card. Can I still dive?
Yes you can. We can check your certification online
I have never dived before. Can I learn to dive in the Similans?
Yes, but you will need to complete the confined water portion of the Open Water Course in a pool first
If I book a Similans liveaboard and I am travelling alone, will I have to share a cabin?
Yes this is a possibility, unless the boat is not full. If you require a cabin to yourself, a single supplement is payable. If you are required to share a cabin we will endeavor to make sure you have a suitable person of the same sex to share with
Is scuba diving insurance included in the liveaboard price?
It depends on which boat you choose. We advise all our guests to take out their own scuba diving insurance. We recommend DAN, who offer very affordable dive insurance
Is there any Internet access on Similan liveaboards?
Some of the boats have limited Internet access depending on their location.
Most companies in Thailand charge extra for credit card payments, what about you?
We absorb all credit card charges, and never pass them on to our valued guests. We are one of the only dive centres who do not pass these charges on to our guests.
My partner does not dive. Can they join me on a Similans liveaboard?
Yes they can. We offer discounts for non-divers. Non-divers are welcome to snorkel whenever the boat is moored. Non-divers usually enjoy the relaxing time on the boat.
What about dive equipment? Is it included in the price?
We always tell you the exact cost of things. If we do not include it in the price we will tell you it is an additional cost, and needs to be paid for on the boat. We never try to hide extra charges from our guests. It goes against our customer service policy.
What are marine park fees?
Similan Marine Park fees are a charge by the Thai government levied on all tourists who visit a Marine Park. For a four-day four night Similans liveaboard trip, marine park fees are currently set at B1600 per person.
What is a scuba diving liveaboard?
Exactly what it says. You stay on the boat and visit different dive sites every day. Food and sleeping accommodation is included.
What is the food like on the boats?
All boats offer a mixture of Asian and European cuisine. It is very tasty. There is usually a light breakfast before the morning dive. After the first dive a full breakfast is served. Guests are also served a full lunch and dinner. There are also snacks and treats between meals. Fresh fruit is available throughout the trip.
What kind of wetsuit will I need?
A 3mm shorty will usually be fine. The water ranges from 26c to 30c depending on the currents
When can I take a Similans liveaboard?
The Similans are open from mid-October to mid-May. Outside these times they are closed and off limits to divers. This is because of the monsoon, which makes it unsafe for boats. Some operators still make the odd trip during the closed period. We will not take our guests to the Similans during this time.

Will I need my own dive computer if I take a Similans liveaboard?
No. Our dive masters and instructors will make sure you stay well within no-decompression limits, but if you have a computer, that is good. You can also rent one if you require one.
Will my mobile phone work in the Similans?
Yes, but reception is limited depending on where the boat is. Do not expect to have a constant telephone signal.
