Similan Explorer Similans Liveaboard
Thailand liveaboard Similan Explorer might have a cheap price, but she offers excellent value for money to scuba divers more concerned about the excellent Similan Islands scuba diving itinerary, than they are about not having a private a private bathroom, the trippy bright turquoise interior cabin paint jobs with matching curtains inside the cabins. Importantly though, the cabins do have splendid views and they are all air-conditioned. M.V. Similan Explorer operates three or five night Similans liveaboard trips, with diving around the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, and Richelieu Rock. The five night itinerary also schedules a visit to one of the more remote Surin Islands, where guests can visit a traditional Sea Gypsy village.
Onboard accommodation consists of four quad share cabins with curtains for each bunk offering a degree of privacy, plus two twin bed cabins on the main deck. Upstairs, there are two more guest cabins which have double beds. The boat is spacious enough to find a peaceful area to relax between dives, and there are hammocks and sun chairs on the partially shaded sun-deck at the rear of the boat. Similan Explorer liveaboard has a communal dining area where tasty meals are served, and snacks and other goodies are always available. Guests share three bathrooms, which have toilets and showers, and there are two additional showers available.
Guests must check in for Similan Explorer trips at their office in Khao Lak before 2:00 pm on departure day. Pick-ups are included for guests staying in Khao Lak, but guests staying in Phuket need to make their own way up to Khao Lak. If requested, for our guests we can arrange private transfers up to Khao Lak at a fair price with an honest taxi driver.

Similan Explorer Thailand Liveaboard
Transfers: Return transfers from Khao Lak hotels to Dolphin Queen offices in Khao Lak are included. Guests based in Phuket need to meets at Dolphin Queens offices in Khao Lak before 2:00 pm. While transfers from Phuket are not included, we are more than happy to arrange transfers for our Dolphin Queen guests at an honest price, ensuring guests aren’t overcharged if they arrange a taxi themselves. The price of a taxi from Phuket to Khao Lak should cost between 1,800 THB to 2,500 THB, depending on the pick-up location in Phuket.
The three night Similans itinerary includes ten dives in the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock. The five night itinerary includes eighteen dives in covering the same dive spots as the three night trip, plus also visits one of the more remote Surin Islands.
Dive Insurance: It is strongly advised that guests obtain their own scuba diving insurance. We recommend D.A.N. Insurance, a non-profit dive organisation that offers good and affordable short term scuba diving insurance policies.
Prices Include:Â Return transfers from Khao Lak. Biodegradable soap and shampoo. 12L litre tanks, weights, wetsuits, fins, booties and mask if required. Guests will take 10 dives on three-night Similan trips / 18 dives on five-night Similan trips. Professional dive guides at a max ratio of 4 guests to 1 guide, torches for night dives, towel, all meals on board, tea, coffee, water, snacks.
Prices Exclude: 7% V.A.T. will be added to all Dolphin Queen trip prices. Transfers from Phuket. Similan Marine Park fees for three-night Similan trips are currently 1,600 THB per person and five-night trips are 2,000 THB per person. Wetsuits, fins, booties and masks are free of charge, but BCDs and regulators cost 300 THB per item per day if required. For those wishing to dive on nitrox, packages with all dives using nitrox tanks for three-night trips are an additional 1,700 THB / five night trips are 3,060 THB.
